1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E W201
$5,000*
222,000kms
The car has a BBS body kit with front and rear bumper and skirts, it is a 1985 build but first registered in 1986. As can be seen in the photos the paint is not in very good condition and there is a little bit of rust in the body, however it would be good for a restore. It also has the Cosworth interior installed with power windows and 5 speed manual Getrag gearbox. It is in fairly good condition mechanically however it needs some work on the front wheel bearings and the top radiator hose is damaged but i am waiting for a new one to be delivered hopefully within the next week. I purchased the car in July of last year and it was missing the A/C unit and i haven't been able to afford to replace it so unfortunately it is missing A/C. The tyres are in fairly good condition although one has a flat spot. The reason i am asking $5000 is because i have spent atleast $8000 on mechanical repairs since purchasing the car and have receipts for all of this and am selling it because i can no longer afford to keep the car.

I'd barely pay that for a real Cosworth, not for this

Where do you live?
Where I live a low milage 190E AT can be had for less than that.
The hard part is finding one with an MT
If you could talk the seller down a lot you could source a lower milage engine for cheap to refresh this car

the Cosworth interior is nice though

hmm. do you think the manual transmission is worth chasing after.. quite rare

I always liked the 190E. The lack of MTs in the US is what keeps me away.
That price is really high though.
I think I've seen high mileage cars with the actual Cosworth engine for about $16K or so. They are more expensive to maintain
If I saw a regular 190E with these specs for under $6500 I'd buy it for sure:
MT
The sport suspension
Less than 150,000 miles and good service history
That would be a unicorn though ...

CP all the way. For 5 grand you should be able to get a much nicer 190 with less milage.
Also the manual isn't that rare, at least in Germany .

Its nice looking inside, Ill give you that. I'd say its about 1500-2000 more than it should be though, Benzly dues or somesuch bullshit.

Many 190e's came with that five speed, nothing to write home about.

Seems like a solid runner. The thing with Merc people at least me, is that we like bone stock. This could go to the right buyer however, it has a tasteful body kit and a nice interior. I would recommend full detail and re post pictures, I see the potential. Mercedes interiors clean up very well.

Isn't rare anywhere.

It really depends if this is what you want. For me, I'd say NP. But that's because I have an 88 W201 with a 3 liter that has a BBS kit and I want to put a 5 speed in it.
i'd love to find a cossy interior but I dont want to ruin anything nice to get it.

It's rare in North America - every 190 around me is an autobox
